dream:

it was raining outside, and beth was supposed to come over after a sports game finished. She called 3 hours later to say that she turned back cause it was taking too long. An old friend Ryan was randomly in the dream being a player, and Tiff/Kaitlin were trying to get his number. I think at one point I was having dinner with my best friend from elementary school dave. And my house was my old house with my grandparents from elementary school.

CRAZY!

history

So it hit me today, finally, that I'm really doing something that I'm passionate about. I've been thinking lately that maybe history isn't what i want to do, then it all just kinda clicked today.

History is the class that i really enjoy the most. I get the most out of it, and I find it the most fascinating. I constantly find myself wanting to learn more stuff outside the classroom, and try and incorporate what i've learned into all my other classes. My project for Art class is probably going to be on the Art/artists that were destroyed/killed during WWI and the art during the war.

I'm glad I finally know.

Sucks that I'm probably gonna end up teaching math.

Philosophy is an amazing class. It's everything I expected it to be so far. I love talking about ethics, and about questions that don't have an answer, and looking for the truth. It is, the cat's pajamas.

The kids in my class however, do not apparently.

Professor: I don't really care if you die during my course. You've paid, and that's let's for me to grade.
Class: OMG I CANT BELIVE THE BITCH SAID THAT!!! FUCK HIM!!!!!
Me: It's true... and it's awesome.

Professor: Anything
Black kids in the front row: Well, that actually doesn't apply to black people because of everything we've gone through. you can't lump us with white people (paraphrased).
Me: What the fuck... die.

The most annoying thing in the world, is black people who hate because of the past. I plan on being a history teacher, and I know the past is important. However, it's important in the sense of repeating or not repeating itself. The institution of slavery was a horrific thing, and people can see through history how terrible it was, and we'll never see it arise again. History is not for bringing up "well you mowed over 'my' people for generations so it's impossible for me to get ahead, and you obviously hate me, and i in tern hate you."

i don't think i will ever be able to put into words, how much disapprovement i have at the idea that most african american's have. i live with about 90% black people in my dorm, and the rudeness is overwelming.

i'm not racist at all. i don't dislike black people. i dislike the idea that because the past happened, african americans have to dwell on it forever. i don't think you'll find any non-white suppremist that will say "slavery wasn't a bad idea".

In my english class i peer reviewed a paper that asked the question "why arne't black males getting to college?" In it, he talked about a personal example at his school. The 4.0 valedictorian of his class, didn't go to college to pursue a rap career. The same as his brother did 2 years prior as his classes salutorian. It literally blew my mind. The paper he wrote was excellent, and it really opened my eyes. HE volunteered at places all over the city trying to get teens involved in going to college, and saw hardly any results. Fascinating I say.

Wow, I dunno what made me decide to write this, but it just came out.

By the way: Friday January 13th = 6 months. <3 anne

I miss going to shows, but will definately go to more now that I'll have my car.
8. I have to get a job >_____________________________<
9.
I don't have anything bad to report.

School is going well. I should get all A-B's in my classes. I only have 3 final exams and 1 project.

My Aunt and I are going on a date Friday to get Dinner and a movie, and perhaps Anne too.

Oh, I guess there was a bummer. I went to a show last night at a bar to see 45 cents. It woulda been cool if Derek went, but he couldn't, so I tried going by myself. Basically, the doors open at 9 when I got there, and they started playing at 10:45. an hour and 45min of me sitting there with a bunch of 25 year old hicks drinking beer and their girlfriends who probably get beat when they get home in a drunken rage. I left after the first band and never went back.

Today: studying some stuff, and probably laxing playing videogames.

hello

it's been a while since i've updated. well, before i left for Eastern.

It's been fun. I've missed some people, but am coming home this weekend so hopefully I can hang out with a few.

I admit, I was thinking that this wasn't for me. But it had a lot to do with something I'll talk about in a bit. I was very depressed about college, but am doing much better now. I might end up getting a job on the U of M campus in Downtown Ann Arbor, which would let me spend more time with the love of my life. We'll see how money goes.

Which brings me to the most amazing part of my life right now, Anne. I'm so glad to have her. We get together every weekend and I spend the night there on Friday night. It's the greatest thing going on right now. I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. She even came over on Saturday night to spend the night. I love you so much Anne, and it makes me the happiest person ever to know you feel the same way.

Well, back to some reading homework. That seems to be the only thing I get, aside from a paper here or there. My classes are pretty simple.

til later. i'll try to update more often.
